Indigo, also referred to as “blue gold,” has been widely used for centuries to naturally dye hair black and dye textiles. Since it is made from the indigo plant, indigo powder—one of the oldest known dyes—does not contain the ammonia, PPD, or other chemicals found in the majority of hair dyes.
A chemical-free hair powder that does not in any way affect hair follicles is organic indigo leaf powder. While it doesn’t reach the hair shaft, it helps with the deposit of colour on the hair’s outer surface. Your hair gets a natural colour from indigo powder, which also nourishes your scalp.

Because indigo powder cannot be saved for future use once it has been mixed with water, it is important to measure out the exact amount needed for your hair.
Add the necessary amount of indigo powder to a non-metallic mixing bowl. Glass bowls are often the preferred mixing bowls for hair colours. To create a thick paste, combine it with warm water and stir thoroughly. After 20 to 30 minutes of soaking, the indigo powder will begin to release the dye. When it’s time to use it, you’ll see that the dye has begun to gather on the bowl’s corners.
